Bulletproof Your Mindset & Accomplish More

Procrastination is a symptom of your underlying issues:

If you’re a procrastinator, there’s a reason. Procrastination isn’t the problem, it’s just a symptom.

Let’s set out to understand what’s in your way, or in your head, that prevents you from daily achievement. What’s holding you back? What’s keeping you from being your best, and producing your best?

This does not mean that you should just do a task you absolutely hate or makes you feel physically ill. But it is a pretty good indicator that maybe that thing isn't your superpower, and you will continue to struggle to find success if you keep going on like this.

There are ways to overcome procrastination by building your activities around your unique skills, establishing a positive environment where you enjoy what you do, and focusing on tasks where you can see the success in front of you. Uncover the real issues behind these symptoms, and you’ll unleash your untapped potential.

You can’t wait for fear to go away - because it never will!

Fears can be managed, but they can’t be fully eliminated. We need some amount of fear to drive us forward, but also to keep us safe. Without fear, we would stumble into all sorts of risks and dangers - even within our businesses.

Instead, use that fear to make educated decisions based on hard facts; to motivate you to find ways to succeed where others fail; and to create a sense of urgency in getting things done, moving things from a state of ambiguity, to a successful outcome.

Your best performances will come at times when fear pushed you to achieve things you didn’t think you could!

Want it more than you are afraid of it.

Regardless of what you go out into the world to accomplish, you have be more driven by your need to succeed, than you are being restrained by the weight of your fears. If the positive drivers outnumber and outweigh the negative fears, you’ll have a net positive return. Meaning you can still keep moving in the right direction.

Think back to your favourite movies and stories with a hero as the main character. The hero did extraordinary things to overcome insurmountable odds. But, we sometimes forget that the heroes were just as scared as everyone else in those stories. The only difference was, they took action in spite of their fears.

Remember that some degree of fear will always be present, so you need to have enough positives to counter them at all times. Have faith and take action.

Be your own biggest fan:

You should never be overconfident, but you do need to be 100% sold on yourself before you can ever convince a prospective client to be sold on you.

Don’t rely on prospects and clients to give you your confidence - that’s not their job. They can sense your uncertainty and indecisive, tentative tone, and they’re not hiring you so that they can coach you through the process, and make you feel good about things.

Believe in yourself, and work on cementing those beliefs in your mind every day. Real estate sales can be a lonely road, and you’ll need to be there to pull yourself up, dust yourself off, and give yourself a good kick in the pants (metaphorically, at least).

If you're doing things for the right reasons, then you deserve to win just as much as anyone else, so NEVER forget that!
